This week in Gear Check we have been testing Modern Table Meals’ gluten-free bean pastas. The votes are in and this one is a winner!

The varieties we have been sampling include Confetti, Mixed Lentil Penne, and Lentil Penne. The pastas are Non-GMO Project Verified and held up very well through the cooking process (this is not always the case with gluten-free pasta). The taste and texture were enjoyed by gluten-free diners and non-gluten-free diners alike and the nutrient content was pretty impressive as well. A single serving contains between 3 and 5 grams of fiber and 14-15 grams of protein. A serving also contains around 25% daily value of iron, 10% daily value of calcium, and between 500 and 600 milligrams of potassium.

We found our Modern Table Meals products at Whole Foods, but according to their website retailers also include Angelo Caputo’s, Jewel, and Target. For more information on their products, or to find a Modern Table Meals retailer near you, check out their website at

  1. I was not only shocked by the structural integrity of the pasta on the initial meal, the noodles were just as good reheated the second day, they did not turn to mush. I really didn’t realize it was not “traditional pasta” until someone pointed it out to me.
