Training for an upcoming race? Don’t know where to start? There’s an app for that. Under Armour’s app “MapMyRun Trainer” offers training plans for 5k, 10k, Half Marathon, Marathon, and 50k races. The app allows you to choose your fitness level, the date of the race, and the number of days you wish to train each week. It then provides a training plan based on the information you have provided. Each run is marked as complete as you move forward toward your race day goal.

The app offers nutrition and fitness tips, as well as explanations of running terminology and the importance of including specific types of runs in your training program. It bases your training on time, rather than miles, and slowly increases the duration of your runs as training progresses. We give this app two thumbs up. It is easy to use and works well to prepare runners for their race day goals.
